Indian village orders rape of two sisters

Human rights groups have condemned the decision by an all-male village council in India that two sisters should be raped and paraded naked through the village after their brother ran away with a married woman of the dominant Jat caste.

The two girls fled to Delhi with their father and appealed to India's Supreme Court for protection. It is reported that the couple have surrendered and the young man has been arrested under a false drugs charge.
